Canada and Philippines explore trade policy and research interests

Trade officials from the Canadian Embassy visited state think tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies on April 20. The delegates were Mr. Michel R. Belanger, senior trade commissioner and counsellor at the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines; Ms. Angel Cachuela, trade commissioner for education, life sciences and consumer products; and Ms. Shirley Ong, regional economic advisor for Southeast Asia.
PIDS President Gilberto Llanto discussed with the Canadian Embassy officials the Philippines' trade interests and economic concerns, as well as opportunities to cooperate on policy research about the business climate in the country and around the region.
