Title: Competition Reforms in Key Markets for Enhancing Social and Economic Welfare in Developing Countries (CREW Project)
Description: CUTS Centre for Competition, Investment and Economic Regulation (CUTS C-CIER) has undertaken a project titled "Competition Reforms in Key Markets for Enhancing Social and Economic Welfare in Developing Countries" (CREW Project). The project was executed in four countries: India, The Philippines, Ghana and Zambia and across two common sectors: staple food and passenger transport with the support from DFID (United Kingdom) and BMZ (Germany) facilitated by GIZ (Germany). Through this project CUTS Jaipur aims to develop an approach, which would help in assessing benefits of competition reforms on consumers and producers in staple food and passenger transport sectors. As the implementer of CREW Project in the Philippines, PIDS produced research papers on political economy for the bus sector and a rice farmer support study post-2017.
