||This study aims to assess the performance of the program by looking at the performance of the chosen grantees. These preliminary observations will also serve as a baseline as the program is to be expanded and continued for the next few years. This particular component study focuses on the implementation of the Visayas State University (VSU) of the Expanded SGP-PA (ESGP-PA) program. VSU was chosen as one of the participating universities for Region 8. In the school year 2012-13, VSU was granted 25 slots under the SGP-PA grant program and graduated two (2) grantees while the other grantees were still continuing and expected to graduate this school year 2015-16. In the school year 2014-15, VSU was granted 310 slots under the ESGP-PA grant. The continuing students of the SGP-PA were incorporated to ESGP-PA program and graduated three (3) grantees on this during this school year.
While the program have been implemented for about four years, nevertheless, no evaluation yet have been conducted on its effectivity against its intended purpose. Moreover, there are cases of dropped out that needs to be documented and analyzed.
