||The Expanded Students Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) is a program that aims to break the poverty cycle by providing support to students who cannot afford tertiary education. The program was piloted for the academic year (AY) 2012-2013 and the grantees were chosen among Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries with an eligible qualified high school graduate and have signified interest in pursuing higher education. It was then rolled out in the AY 2014-2015. Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) is collaborating with the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College in the assessment of the performance of the ESGP-PA by looking into the performance of the grantees in said education institution. Carlos Hilado Memorial State College has 119 ESGP-PA grantees, who are studying across its four campuses.
