In preparation for the Philippines' Chairmanship of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in 2015, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) are co-organizing the "National Workshop on Services: Advancing Philippine Services Sectors in the Asia-Pacific Region and the 21st Century Global Economy," which will be held on June 2-4, 2014 at the AIM Conference Center in Makati City.

The National Workshop on Services brings together local and international experts from multilateral institutions, think-tanks, and national agencies, as well as academics, industry practitioners, and other stakeholders, to discuss the latest international developments and opportunities in services trade and how the Philippines can maximize the potential of its services sectors in the global economy. Ultimately, the output of the Workshop could serve as a valuable input to ongoing or future efforts toward a domestic policy reform framework and a comprehensive strategy on services.
