The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Mindanao State University (MSU) joined hands in the inauguration and opening of the PIDS Corner at the MSU Main Library on This PIDS Corner is the 16th to be set up in the country.

Dr. Emmanuel Lagare, MSU vice president for Academic Affairs, welcomed all members of the faculty, students, and guests during the event that was part of the university’s Golden Jubilee celebration.PIDS President Josef Yap congratulated and thanked MSU officials, specifically Dr. Marianita Dablio, acting university librarian, for all their hard work in putting up a grand and elegant PIDS Corner in the university.

The MOA signing was led by Dr. Yap and Dr. Lagare, witnessed by Dr. Dablio and Ms. Jennifer Liguton, PIDS director for Research Information. The MSU PIDS Corner is the fifth Corner in the Mindanao region. Other PIDS Corners in Mindanao are found at the Neda-10 Knowledge Center in Cagayan de Oro City; Bukidnon State University (BSU) Library in Malaybalay, Bukidnon; University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) in Davao City; and Butuan City Public Library in Agusan del Norte.

The PIDS Corner aims to make PIDS studies and publications available and accessible to researchers, students, faculty, and local policymakers. Hopefully, the studies may help provide inputs and perspectives to certain discussions and decisions that they may need to make at their respective levels.
