Hello PIDS friends! Here's our #PIDSFactFriday for the week on health programs and services for children.

A PIDS study that assessed the conduct of programs and services on early childhood care and development for the first 1,000 days of life (ECCD-F1KD) found that such interventions are affected by a host of factors. These include the lack of integrated planning at the local government level, lack of coordination in planning and budgeting, absence of proper monitoring and evaluation, lack of capacity of health workers, the difficulty of reaching geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, security concerns, and lack of awareness of parents and local government officials on the importance of ECCD-F1KD.
