A PIDS study says less than half of firms in the country are innovators, with larger-sized firms innovating more than micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The study urges the government to develop stronger policies and interventions to ease the barriers faced by MSMEs, especially those that limit their access to finance, technical knowledge and skills, and networks. It is also important to improve information dissemination on public programs that assist firms to innovate.
