The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is currently conducting the 2021 Survey of Innovation
Activities of Establishments (SIA) which started on December 27, 2022 to March 31, 2023. In collaboration with the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), the PSA shall undertake the 2021 Survey of Innovation Activities (SIA) of Establishments. This is the third round of survey to be conducted on innovation activities of establishments, the second round was in 2015.

Information on innovation shall provide a better understanding of the innovative behavior and
activities of firms. The 2021 SIA of establishments aims to examine innovative performance of
economic actors across all major sectors of the economy, including the extent of the platform economy, and for providing internationally comparable data on innovation that are systems-oriented and policy- relevant in the Philippine setting.

The data shall serve as basis for mainstreaming the innovation system approach into the center-stage of national policymaking through establishment of systems-oriented, policy relevant and internationally comparable indicators. PSA-Benguet Provincial Statistical Office hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) to visit sample establishments in Baguio City and selected municipalities of Benguet. PSA Benguet appeals to the sample establishments to cooperate and provide truthful, complete, and accurate information to the enumerators.

The PSA adheres to the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality pursuant to R.A. No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and R.A. No. 10625 or the Philippine
Statistical Act of 2013. All information gathered on the survey are confidential and not that are systems-oriented and policy- relevant in the Philippine setting. The data shall serve as basis for
mainstreaming the innovation system approach into the center-stage of national policymaking
through establishment of systems-oriented, policy relevant and internationally comparable indicators.

PSA-Benguet Provincial Statistical Office hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) to visit sample establishments in Baguio City and selected municipalities of Benguet. PSA Benguet appeals to the sample establishments to cooperate and provide truthful, complete, and accurate information to the enumerators. The PSA adheres to the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and
proportionality pursuant to R.A. No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and R.A. No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013. All information gathered on the survey are confidential and not for disclosure unless authorized by law.

Moreover, PSA will release data only in the form of summaries or statistical tables. The office assures the selected sample establishments to the required public neat and safety measures to contain COVID-19 will be strictly observed in all phases of field operations. All PSA personnel and hired statistical researchers who will be deployed are in good health condition and will strictly
follow precautionary measures against COVID-19, such as wearing of face mask and face shield, physical distancing, proper hygiene and sanitation, and wearing of PSA ID.

They shall likewise observe all protocols laid down by the Local Government Units (LGUs). The PSA appeals and enjoins the public to support the on-going 2021 Survey of  Innovation Activities of
Establishments (SIA).
