For this week, our buzzword is “sentiment analysis".
It refers to a computing method for finding out the emotional tone of text-based data, such as social media posts.

Using sentiment analysis of tweets and online news, a PIDS study found positive feelings among internet users toward trade liberalization efforts, such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). The feelings can be best described as “trust”. However, “fear” and “anticipation” were also observed, suggesting feelings of uncertainty amid the current global crisis and skepticism toward trade agreements.
