PIDS Senior Research Fellow Dr. Adoracion Navarro was featured in a special 24 Oras report aired on July 25, 2025, highlighting the delays and challenges in the government’s major transportation projects.
The report, by GMA reporter Joseph Morong, examined why many infrastructure projects—despite nearing completion—have yet to deliver significant relief to commuters. According to Dr. Navarro, a key issue lies in how the projects were conceptualized:
“Right from the start, hindi commuter-centric ang infrastructure planning.”
Her insights were based on findings from a recent PIDS study, which explores gaps in transport infrastructure development and offers recommendations for more inclusive and commuter-focused planning.
