A follow up meeting of the 2018 Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) Steering Committee was held on August 14, 2018 to update members about the preparations for the DPRM and the Annual Public Policy Conference (APPC).
Present during the meeting were representatives from regular and additional members of the DPRM steering committee. The regular members of the DPRM Steering Committee include National Economic and Development Authority, Civil Service Commission, Philippine Information Agency, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government while additional members are the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Science and Technology, and Department of Trade and Industry.
Spearheaded by PIDS, the DPRM is an annual nationwide celebration held every September to promote awareness of the importance of policy research in the formulation of development policies, programs, and projects. Its main event is the Annual Public Policy Conference which gathers members of the government, academe, civil society, and the private sector to discuss various socioeconomic issues that need to be addressed.
