Members of this year's Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) Steering Committee convened at the PIDS office in Quezon City to discuss possible areas of collaboration, as well as preparations for the DPRM.

The meeting included the regular members of the DPRM Steering Committee, namely, National Economic and Development Authority, Civil Service Commission, Philippine Information Agency, Presidential Management Staff, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government. For this year, the Department of Trade and Industry – Bureau of International Trade Relations, Philippine Competition Commission, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Labor and Employment, and Department of Health, were added as members.

Spearheaded by PIDS, the DPRM is an annual nationwide celebration held every September to promote awareness of the importance of policy research in the formulation of development policies, programs, and projects. Its main event is the Annual Public Policy Conference which gathers members of the government, academe, civil society, and the private sector to discuss various socioeconomic issues that need to be addressed.
