As part of the series of press conferences for the 15th Development Policy Research Month, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) held a press conference at the Ateneo de Zamboanga Univerity on September 7, 2017.
Among the resource speakers are PIDS Senior Research Fellow Rosario Manasan, Mindanao Development Authority Chairman Sec. Datu Abul Khayr Alonto, AdZu's Political Science Department Chairman Ramon Beleno III, Bangsamoro Study Co-Convenor Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, Institute for Autonomy and Governance Director Atty. Benedicto Bacani, and AdZu Professor Hezekiah Concepcion.
The DPRM is celebrated across the country every September since 2002 in view of Malacañang Proclamation No. 247. This activity aims to promote and draw nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in the formulation of sound development plans, programs, and policies. The proclamation designated state think tank PIDS as the lead government agency in the yearly observance of the DPRM.
