The Development Policy Research Month (DPRM) Interagency Steering Committee convened on June 19, led by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) through PIDS President Dr. Aniceto Orbeta Jr. The meeting was dedicated to discussing this year's DPRM theme, messaging, and activities.
DPRM, held annually in September and spearheaded by PIDS, emphasizes the importance of policy research in evidence-based planning and policymaking. Supported by partner agencies, it seeks to promote a strong culture of research and improve the public’s research and information literacy of socioeconomic issues.
In attendance were representatives from key members of National Economic and Development Authority , Philippine Civil Service Commission, Philippine Information Agency, Presidential Management Staff, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG Philippines), Department of Budget and Management, Senate Economic Planning Office, and House of Representatives-Congressional Policy and Budget Research Department.
Additionally, new members for 2024, such as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Trade and Industry, actively contributed to shaping the agenda.
