The Mindanao Policy Research Forum (MPRF) is an annual event co-hosted by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) as part of the Development Policy Research Month (DPRM). This year, in collaboration with the Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) and Mindanao State University – General Santos (MSU – GenSan), it will focus on the theme “Navigating Global Trends, Mindanao's Future: Opportunities and Strategies for Expanding Middle Class”. The forum will be conducted on September 26, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in General Santos City and via Zoom.

The MPRF theme aligns with the 22nd DPRM theme, “Securing a Future for All by Growing a Resilient Middle Class”. The MPRF aims to provide a platform for Mindanao scholars, policymakers, and stakeholders to engage in evidence-based discussions on enhancing the quality of life for the middle class and emphasizing their role in driving the country’s development.

The forum will feature speeches from MSU – GenSan Chairperson Usman D. Aragasi, PIDS President Aniceto Orbeta Jr., and MinDA Chairperson Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno. Prominent speakers and discussants from various sectors in Mindanao, including government agencies, local government units, academia, the private sector, and civil society, are expected to participate in the discussion.

Due to limited availability at the venue, onsite participation will require manual approval. Interested participants may join onsite or online via Zoom at https://bit.ly/MPRF2024reg. The session will also be streamed live on the PIDS and SERP-P Facebook pages.
