A PIDS study says the country’s business process outsourcing (BPO) industry has experienced a severe decline in innovation since 2009. It reveals that only one in every three BPO firms is active in pursuing innovation. The study recommends the creation of a national innovation framework and a plan of action to facilitate the interaction of players in the innovation ecosystem. It also urges the government to ease regulatory barriers to innovation and provide firms and individuals with the necessary support services to innovate.
