This issue of the Philippine Journal of Development consists of articles on local government conditional grants, sustainable financing of smallholder agricultural production, maternal employment’s effect on child stunting, and the extent of education-labor mismatches in the country. The first article discusses the conditional grants that the national government provides to local government units and the role of these grants in promoting an improved level of governance among cities and municipalities. The second article examines the financial ecosystem of small farmers and fisherfolk in the country and suggests ways on how to make it more beneficial and integrated in the long term. The third article analyzes the possible effects of maternal employment and education on the likelihood of stunting among Filipino children. The last article evaluates the extent and consequences of education-employment mismatches in the Philippine labor market. Click here to download the journal.
