Hello, PIDS friends! Here's our #PIDSFactFriday for the week on the public spending for nutrition in the country.
A PIDS study that looked into the public spending for nutrition of national government agencies in the Philippines revealed that the Department of Social Welfare and Development accounted for the largest share at 59.6 percent (PHP 293.5 billion). This figure is attributable to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps, which may have other non-nutrition components. This is followed by the Department of Agriculture at 10.8 percent (PHP 53.2 billion) and the Department of Health at 10.2 percent (PHP 50.4 billion).
