It refers to the movement of people across countries, usually from their country of residence to a country of which they are not nationals.

A PIDS study found that Filipino international migrants are mostly from the National Capital Region (12.5%), CALABARZON (10.1%), and Ilocos Region (9.7%). Nearly 8 out of 10 are 20 to 39 years old. The most common reasons for international migration are employment, job change, or job relocation.
