What will it take for the Philippines to create more and better jobs? This question shaped the discussions at the Forum and Launch of the World Bank Philippines Growth and Jobs Report, held on July 15 at the Makati Shangri-la, where PIDS Senior Research Fellow Dr. Adoracion Navarro was one of the panelists.
The World Bank Philippines organized the forum in partnership with Asian Institute of Management, which brought together policymakers, economists, development experts, private sector leaders, and stakeholders from across the development community.
Dr. Navarro explained how infrastructure sectors, such as electricity, connectivity, and transportation, drive human capital development. Addressing investment and competition bottlenecks is crucial to improving infrastructure that enables more and better jobs.
