To expand access to critical socioeconomic research and strengthen partnerships with academic institutions, Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) Senior Research Specialist and SERP-P Coordinator Ezekiel Nicomedes visited St. Paul University Dumaguete and Negros Oriental State University.
At St. Paul University Dumaguete, Nicomedes conducted an orientation on SERP-P’s history as the Philippines' first electronic repository of socioeconomic resources. He highlighted the benefits of open access in sharing local research with a wider audience. The session, attended by the university’s research director and staff, marked a significant step toward making academic resources more accessible to the public.
At Negros Oriental State University, Nicomedes introduced SERP-P’s open access initiatives to the Office of International Research and Linkages and the Office of University Research. He also presented the Philippine Journal of Development, underscoring its significance for university researchers and faculty. These visits reflect PIDS' commitment to enhancing research accessibility and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
