To further increase its reach at the local level and draw awareness in the provinces on the importance of policy research and the DPRM theme, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) partnered with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in organizing Kapihan Press Conferences in different provinces. One of these regional press conferences was held in Laoag City on Sept. 16, from 11am to 1pm. Dr. Sheila Siar, director for research information at PIDS, served as the resource person. Other panelists for this press conference were local government executives and regulators in Region 1. This event is co-organized with the regional office of PIA in Region 1.
