In partnership with the Japan Economic Foundation (JEF), PIDS hosted a forum on November 28 at the Makati Diamond Residences, facilitating a dialogue among experts, scholars, and leaders across sectors to address critical issues shaping the Asia-Pacific region.
Key moments included:
-Opening remarks by Dr. Aniceto Orbeta Jr. (PIDS) and Mr. Masakazu Toyoda (JEF)
-A keynote address by Ambassador Daniel Espiritu (Assistant Secretary for ASEAN Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of the Philippines)
-Three thematic sessions on the following topics: Adjusting to the US Economic Policy after the US Presidential Election, Regional FTA Promotion in Asia Pacific Region, and Climate Change and its implication on the Asia-Pacific Energy Transition
The forum featured experts from Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and New Zealand, among others. It highlighted the importance of regional collaboration and innovation in navigating today’s complex geoeconomic landscape.
