State think tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies, in collaboration with the National Statistics Bureau of Bhutan and the World Bank, held a six-day workshop for the technical staff of NSB-Bhutan and PIDS.

The training, held at the PIDS office from June 19-24, involved introduction to statistics and technical writing, and data management, analysis, and visualization using the STATA software.

The training was facilitated by PIDS Senior Research Fellow Jose Ramon Albert. According to Albert, the training will equip NSB staff to examine the wealth of data available in the surveys of Bhutan, including evaluating data quality, as well as to see how various socio economic data from surveys relate with each other.
