This Note looks into the regional occurrence of typhoons, floods, and droughts in the Philippines and the value of the damages that they cause on rice farming, particularly in terms of production losses. The objective is to highlight the regional differences and suggest some strategies to address them. In addition, this Note intends to identify new studies that can be undertaken related to typhoons, floods, and droughts; concerns which currently have limited economic research focus in the country.
