This paper aims to provide country inputs to the joint study on ASEAN-US Relations whose main objective is to identify policy reforms and actions producing mutual benefits for ASEAN and the US in the area of trade in goods, services and investment. It discusses the trends and policies of trade in these areas and outlines the medium term prospects for the Philippine economy. It also investigates salient issues such as the Generalized System of Preferences, intellectual property rights and agriculture issues. Finally, it analyzes the implications of its findings on ASEAN-US economic relations from the Philippine perspective.
