The East Asian Development Network (EADN) held its 2012-2013 forum on June 17-18, 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City, Philippines. Forty-two participants from member-institutions, research grantees and their mentors, and representatives from the Global Development Network (GDN) attended this annual event. The grantees presented the progress of their respective studies where discussions in an open forum provided valuable comments to improve the ongoing research projects. Updates on GDN and EADN were also discussed.
On the first day of the event, Dr. George Mavrotas, Chief Economist of GDN, presented his paper entitled “Rethinking Development Aid: Issues, Challenges, and the Need for an Innovative Agenda”. Datuk Dr. Mohamed Ariff, EADN representative to the GDN Board, also reported important updates on the changes that GDN has undergone since it was established as an international organization.
