The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) will hold a public seminar on "Nurturing Human Capital through Education: Issues and Alternatives" on July 16, 2018, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, at the PIDS Conference Room, 18th Floor, Three Cyberpod Centris North Tower, EDSA corner Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
The seminar will feature three presentations, namely, “A Second Chance to Develop the Human Capital of Out-of-School Youth and Adults: The Philippine Alternative Learning Systems”, by Ms. Takiko Igarashi (Senior Education Specialist) and Mr. Pablo Acosta (Senior Economist) of the World Bank, “Helping Children Catch Up: Early Life Shocks and the Progresa Experiment”, by Dr. Teresa Molina of the University of Hawaii, and “Unlocking the Filipino People's Potential in the Next Six Years and Beyond”, by Dr. Vicente Paqueo, Dr. Aniceto Orbeta, and Dr. Michael Abrigo of PIDS.
