Hello, PIDS friends! Here's our #FactFriday for the week on LGUs' delivery of responsible parenthood and reproductive health services.

A PIDS study that investigated how local government units (LGUs) deliver responsible parenthood and reproductive health (RPRH) services mandated by law found material differences in providing these services. These differences appear to be mediated by disparities in the resources available to them. Thus, expanding the fiscal space of LGUs may be beneficial to increase the financing for RPRH services. However, this should not be the only consideration. Improvements in other essential inputs, particularly on local information systems, human resources, infrastructure and supply, and governance, are needed to ensure that all LGUs meet the minimum service delivery requirements.
