The DOH-PIDS Health Systems Research Program was crafted to improve the capacity of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) to formulate, implement, and monitor health policies supportive of the administrations Aquino Health Agenda (AHA) as articulated in the Universal Health Care (UHC)" Kalusugan Pangkalahatan (KP) launched in 2011.

The Health Research component of the program seeks to provide evidence-based findings needed to steer the health system, to monitor existing health policies and programs, and to inform future policies and programs that the DOH and PHIC should consider. For this program, 28 studies have been implemented covering topics on health financing, attainment of MDGs, public-private partnerships on health, and health service delivery.

The third Knowledge-Sharing Seminar will be held on March 20 from 1:30 pm (registration at 1:00 pm) to 4:00 pm at the Romulo Hall, NEDA sa Makati Building, 106 Amorsolo St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.
