Philippines-based digital solutions platform The Globe Group has launched the KonsultaMD SuperApp, which aims to advance healthcare access in the Philippines.

Building on the KonsultaMD telehealth platform, the SuperApp offers an expanded provider network and a wide range of healthcare services.

The service integrates various medical apps and provides services such as doctor consultations, at-home lab testing, an online pharmacy with same-day delivery, diagnostics, wellness services, nursing care, physical therapy and a concierge service.

Its users can consult more than 1,000 medical professionals through video or chat from their homes.

The SuperApp has seen a surge in downloads, registrations and transactions, outperforming the previous app in terms of engagement, conversion and payment.

The service aims to particularly benefit people in remote areas with limited access to doctors, as well as those lacking primary healthcare facilities nearby.

A recent report from the Philippine Institute for Development Studies found that there were 27 Filipino provinces with less than 0.5 hospital beds for every 1,000 people.

Globe said the launch of the KonsultaMD SuperApp reflects the company’s commitment to making healthcare accessible to all, with plans to expand and improve the service in future.

Globe Group president and CEO Ernest Cu said: “We have very exciting plans for KonsultaMD. It seeks to address a very big issue in the Philippines.

“With a ratio of one doctor for every 30,000 citizens, bringing healthcare access to the public is really our goal.

“The more we make the SuperApp easy to use and inject many more services into it, we think it’s going to resonate with our customers and the public.”

As the Philippines’ largest telehealth company, KonsultaMD aims to democratise healthcare in the country by providing reliable end-to-end services at all times.

The company’s services include access to doctors online, medicine delivery, at-home diagnostics and home care.
