The Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) was established in 1996 through Administrative Order 303 as the Philippines’ response to the APEC Leaders’ Education Initiative, which aims to develop regional cooperation among higher education and research institutions in the APEC region.  PASCN creates an avenue for universities and research institutions in the country to work together not only on issues pertaining to APEC but also on development reforms.

In line with PASCN’s information dissemination and technical assistance programs, the Secretariat will hold a Research Funding and Collaboration Opportunities Workshop on November 21, 2018 at the PIDS Conference Hall, 18F Three Cyberpod Centris-North Tower, EDSA cor. Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

The workshop aims to facilitate the exchange of information on possible research funding sources and collaboration opportunities between or among academic and research institutions, government agencies (in particular the Technical Board on APEC Matters agencies) and NGOs. In addition, this is PASCN’s contribution to capacity-building program on matters related to APEC.  The workshop’s format is a combination of lecture and navigation of relevant websites (EU Horizon 2020 for session 1 and APEC for session 2). Our resource speakers will provide tips on how to prepare a successful proposal and will share the best practices in developing it. To maximize the learning opportunities, participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops.

Due to the limited seating capacity of the venue, it will be on a first come first serve. Please confirm ahead of time if you are attending. Should you have any question or concern, your office may get in touch with the PASCN Secretariat at (02) 877-4072 to 74 or email us at pascn@mail.pids.gov.ph.
