PIDS hosted a knowledge-sharing session with the World Bank at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) Conference Hall in Quezon City, featuring a study that explores potential solutions to global workforce challenges.

Presented by World Bank Lead Economists Dr. Pablo Ariel Acosta and Mr. Limon Rodriguez, the study found that developing countries are experiencing a surge in young people needing jobs and training, while developed nations face aging populations with critical skill shortages. The study suggested Global Skill Partnerships as a way to address these concerns.

The discussants were PIDS Research Fellow Dr. Aubrey Tabuga and Asian Institute of Management-Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism OIC-Executive Director Dr. John Paulo Rivera. The session was moderated by PIDS President Dr. Aniceto Orbeta Jr. and garnered participation from both onsite and online PIDS officials, fellows, research staff, and other government representatives, making it a comprehensive and engaging exchange of ideas.
