The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) will hold a seminar-forum on “The Philippine Business and Economic Outlook for 2015 and Beyond”, which will be held on May 19, 2:00 to 4:30 pm, at the Romulo Hall, NEDA sa Makati Building, 106 Amorsolo St., Legaspi Village, Makati City.
A yearly tradition of PIDS as part of its service to the Filipino people, this event features the Institute`s analysis of the macroeconomic trends in 2014 and the economic outlook for 2015. The PIDS presentation will be given by Dr. Adora Navarro, OIC-Vice President and a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute.
The other presentation will highlight the private sector`s analysis of the country`s economic prospects. The Institute deems it important to engage the private sector in this forum because it is the driver of economic growth and main engine of job creation. The presenter is Mr. Hans Sicat, President of the Philippine Stock Exchange and a non-executive Vice Chairman and Director of LegisPro Corporation (a knowledge process outsourcing firm). He also holds positions in various business entities.
An open forum will take place after the two presentations. Invited representatives from the business community, government, academe/research, and civil society are expected to engage in a lively discussion of key issues gleaned from the analyses and their recommendations of possible courses of action to take advantage of opportunities and minimize risks and uncertainties.
