The article features the presentation made by Dr. Samuel Tan, Director of the National Historical Institute, which gave a perspective of the revolutionary struggle in the Visayas and Mindanao areas in relation to the fight for Philippine Independence. Rarely being given the same prominence as their Luzon counterparts in retelling of the Philippine Revolution, Visayas and Mindanao according to Dr. Tan, also had a number of contributions which should be made known to the Filipinos.
