The DRN was given a new and improved look to be more effective in delivering its content. There were also some modifications done to the presentation as part of the Institute`s goal to bring excellent and more comprehensive DRN issues to readers. The change, however, is not only in the appearance of the DRN but also in its frequency from bimonthly to quarterly. This is intended to gather more articles and make the DRN more informative.
With these changes in the DRN beginning this year, we are bringing you our January-March issue. It contains an analysis of the Philippines` economic performance in 2012 and prospects for 2013. This year, PIDS President Josef T. Yap has again collaborated with Senior Research Fellow Adoracion M. Navarro in writing this piece. This tradition of opening the year with an expert`s forecasts of the economy based on macroeconomic trends and developments of the previous year was started 15 years ago. Over the years, this regular contribution of the Institute through Dr. Yap has become a much-respected and relied-upon analysis of the country`s economic performance and prospects amid changing conditions in the regional and global economies.
