Through the years, savings and credit cooperatives (SCCs) have proven to be effective in mobilizing millions of peso deposits from thousands of members, mostly coming from the low and middle-income classes. Because of this, there is a need to institute prudential and oversight measures to protect the deposits of the members in these organizations. This Notes presents several measures that may provide such protection.
