This edition of the Development Research News provides an overview of the proceedings of the 10th DPRM and PIDS` 35th anniversary, as well as the three-day Research Fair that drew the participation of 20 research institutions. The theme "Regional Economic Integration and Inclusive Growth: Engaging Nations, Embracing People" captures perfectly the twin objectives of becoming a globally competitive economy making sure the poor benefit from economic gains.

The banner story draws heavily from the excellent summary and reflections made by Prof. Gary Hawke, a New Zealand-based academic, who thinks the time has come for Asia`s model for regional economic integration that would ensure both economic growth and inclusivity. This is possible by harnessing small and medium enterprises, which should result in greater innovation and increased value-added.
