Hello, PIDS friends! Here's our #FactFriday for the week on the factors affecting students' test scores.

A PIDS study found that grade repetition, age of start of primary schooling, and bullying have a consistent negative correlation with students’ test scores in mathematics, science, and reading. Meanwhile, parental occupation and emotional support, and the school’s disciplinary climate are positively correlated with test scores. These results highlight the role of factors beyond the confines of the school in education.
