Despite progress, Filipino women still face barriers in work, politics, and health — showing that closing the gender gap requires more work.
As part of National Women’s Month, the SERP-P Network hosted a knowledge-sharing seminar to foster evidence-based discussions on these pressing issues:
Dr. Connie Bayudan-Dacuycuy of the Philippine Institute For Development Studies emphasized the importance of unpaid work and why it should be valued.
Dr. Jean Encinas-Franco of the UP Department of Political Science explored the barriers to women’s political participation in the Philippines.
Dr. Ma. Carmen Peñalosa of the Miriam College (formerly Maryknoll) Center for Strategic Research, Creativity, and Intellectual Property examined the factors affecting family planning access for women in disaster-affected areas.
